...more new teammates!

"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:

"Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?"

Then I said, "Here am I, Send me."

...coffee beans!

This time it wasn't me that was homesick - it was my
friend.  She's been here for one year now, studying
Spanish before she heads off to learn yet another new
language, one that's never been written down,
spoken by an unreached people group.
Well, her and her parents (who live in the USA) love
coffee and like to roast and grind their own beans.
She recently received a package from them with coffee
beans in it!!  Isn't that super special?!
So, we invited her over to show us how it's done!

I'm not a huge coffee fan, but it was extremely tasty!
If you like coffee, maybe you can pray for Katie
the next time you drink some!

...friends who share their marshmallows!

Did you have a S'more this summer?
 Around here marshmallows and
graham crackers are a rare commodity.
There is one store that sells a bag of marshmallows
for about $10.00.  It's a bit pricey!
Well, our friends just got back from the USA and
they happened to pack their leftover S'more ingredients!
And the crazy things is...they shared it with us!
They were SUPER YUMMY!

It's so cute how God throws in extra "little" good
things just to show His love!

...a good beginning to a new school year!

 This teacher LOVES her students!!
 This year we're using:
Bible: Joshua, Judges
Math-U-See
Emma Serl's Language Lessons
Spelling City
Sonlight Readers
Apologia Science: Zoology 1
Beautiful Feet American History
Pre-K for our little guy will consist of:
reading books together, playing 123/ABC games,
Sheppard Software (great website!),
a preschool workbook, playing with brothers, etc.!
Our main goal is to see our boys become more and more
like Christ.  School is a part of that.  Intermingled with
science and spelling we are teaching them about
faithfulness and doing their work "heartily, as to the Lord
and not to men...".  As they write and study English,
they are learning to "do everything without complaining".
Every day we endeavor to train and teach them in the
ways of the Lord because we believe this will bring them
true joy!
And WE are growing right along with them!

...42 years of life for my husband!

For his birthday, he got a new grill and invited
our Paraguayan family over to enjoy it with us!
Our PY "mom" is a cake-maker; she makes amazing
"tortas", like the one you'll see below, filled with layers
of chocolate mousse, dulce de leche, and strawberries!
We had a great time celebrating together!

I don't know what we would do without this guy!
I often say he's like a rainbow on a rainy day!
I'm SO thankful for him and the way he loves and
leads me and our 3 boys!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

bonfires and long distance phone calls!

Here's how it was:
every single one of my 5 siblings were all together
having a bonfire on a summer evening in Ohio.
We were the only family missing.
It made me homesick!
So, we made our own bonfire, our first bonfire!
It was even on the chilly side that evening, just
like in Ohio!  I don't know - it just helped!
Plus I got to talk to a lot of them throughout that
week on the phone.  It made me feel not so far away!
Thanks, Lord, for bonfires and long distance phone calls!
P.S. To my husband's family: we also felt homesick
around O.S. fair time!

...a great trip!

In our new ministry, we have the privilege of visiting
our co-workers who are working among the unreached
tribal groups.  Last week we took a 5-day trip to help
mainly with the construction of the missionaries'
new houses, but also to be a help and encouragement
in whatever way we could!
The men did the construction work.
We wives watched the kids, cooked the meals, and
had a fun time talking!
The kids had a blast playing together...
altogether there were 10!

Here are some of the views we got to see while traveling.

 We had an incredible week!
We thank God for the opportunity to go out and visit
our co-workers and pray that one day the tribal
group they live close to will have the Word of God
in their own language!
